My opinion over Nessie Cullen just keeps changing. I half like her, maybe just because she's amazing to write for in a fanfiction POV. But I've come to hate the ending of Breaking Dawn - and Harry Potter for the record regarding my earlier post - happy endings just...don't happen in real life. And even in a world where vampires exist, shouldn't that make the ending even more flawed than it would have been in an all-human story?
She fixed everything going on with the Cullens, but then repaid those by getting them into bother about the whole immortal-child thing with the Volturi. And, if there was no Nessie, there would be no Breaking Dawn. Seriously, where did Stephanie have left to go? Edward suddenly becomes gay and has loved Jacob all this time instead of Bella?
But again, without Nessie, Jake would have got over Bella - and probably quickly because he hated vampires and she was a vampire - and left with Leah, then he could've fixed her and they could've had a happy ending, but without the picturesque feeling to it.
And again, I think the Volturi might've found some other way to pick on the Cullens, so Nessie isn't exactly that needed to complete the story- but she is wanted, by me anyway.
Well, that's full of contradictions....
